On American Idol and Grade Consciousness

My Chemistry Laboratory Instructor gave a quiz a couple of days ago. Actually, it was a series of quizzes, each quiz after a laboratory experiment report. She deliberately held a quiz without warning us about it perhaps to test how well did we comprehend the report of our classmates (it was a drowsy afternoon that time). And so, to improve the mean score of the class, she asked questions that will merit bonus points.

The questions are quite manageable. Some of the questions require attentiveness to details during the report. But come the most bonus among all questions, I stuttered, stared blankly, wondering if my pen on my fingers would write down a response. She asked:

Among the American Idol finalists, who would you like to compete head-to-head?

Years of ignoring these kinds of television shows served me right. I have no idea at all! Well, I learn about their existence when their songs begin to get played on the radio. I know Kelly Clarkson, the two Davids - David Cook and David Archuleta, I know... uhmm... I know... ( looks at americanidolyear8.blogspot.com) .

I'm a an absolute dummy when it comes to American Idol. In fact, I didn't know that the show is running on it's 8th season. It's only now that I regret failing to watch atleast one episode of this show. I regret it cause I didn't get the bonus point.

David Cook and David Archuleta will be having a concert on May 16 in the Philippines (I learned it from Magic 89.9 radio. I guess I still have a life). The American Idol fever surely caught the americanized Filipinos. As for an americanized grade-conscious dork like me, May 16 will be just like any other Saturday.
______________

I had my third departmental exam in Chemistry today. I think I was short on practice. I wasn't confident enough for the exam. Oh well, looking on the brighter side, atleast it was a learning experience.

Sheesh. I was having a grade of paramount quality and this exam may just push my grade down the mountain.

  1. That was really a bonus question... too bad hindi ka nakakapanood.

As for me, I started watching it during Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis finale, that was season 6. Actually, it is through American Idol that I become updated what are the new songs. :P
